The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the preliminary examination for Civil Services 2020 due to a nationwide lockdown due to CVC-19 and extended it by two more weeks. Earlier, the preliminary examination of UPSC Civil Service was scheduled to be held on May 31, 2020.
According to UPSC official statement, "The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2020, scheduled for May 31, 2020, has been postponed. As this examination also serves as a screening examination for the Indian Forest Service Examination, the schedule for the Indian Forest Service Examination The situation will be reviewed again on May 20, 2020, and new dates for this test will be notified.
The Commission has already postponed the following tests:
(A) Personality test of the remaining candidates of Civil Service Examination 2019
(B) Notification for Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2020
(C) Notification for Combined Medical Service Examination, 2020
(d) Notification for Central Armed Police Force Examination, 2020
(E) NDA and Naval Academy Examinations, 2020
The exam has not cancelled yet, many students were anxious about this. The notice further states that "when the postponed examination/examination dates are fixed, it will be ensured that the candidates will be given at least 30 days' notice before the exam.
This is indeed great news for the aspirants who are still working hard to complete the syllabus, at the same time is a matter of deep concern that if the exam anyhow not conduct this year. Because there are thousands of student who are well prepared and have been preparing for many years. For them, it becomes an extra headache.
Due to COVID 19, all the academic activities have been disrupted across the globe, hope the situation will get back to normal and exam conducts as per schedule.
