How to Preapre for APSC Exam : Exam strategy by our toppers


Civil Service Exam is one of the prestigious exams in the country irrespective of states or central. This platform actually provides you to serve the common people across your state/country. Along with serving people, it gives enormous dignity and recognition to society. But do you think this is so easy to achieve?

Every year, more than 70,000 students seat for APSC exams and there are only limited seats available. You have to face tremendous competition. Hence, To clear such a prestigious exam, you need to have some pre-planned strategy to clear the exam.

APSC Exam full form: Assam Public Service Commission

APSC exam is conducted every year in the state of Assam. Similar to the UPSC, the APSC exam consists of 3 parts. The first one is Prelims, the Second one is Mains and the third and final one is Interview. So, if you qualify Prelims, you will be eligible to sit for Mains, and if you clear Mains then you will be eligible for Interview.

Now,  In Prelim, there are two subjects. 
     
   1. General Studies
   2. Optional Subject

The Main exam consists of 4 subject

1.General Studies(compulsory for all)
2.General English(compulsory for all)
3.Options Subject 1
4. Optional Subjects 2

And finally Interview, if you clear Mains then only you will be eligible to sit for Interview.


Now the biggest headache is how to start preparation for APSC, Well I will share with you some important tips that you can follow.





         

  1. Reading Newspapers daily: Reading newspapers on a regular basis is the best way to crack any competitive exam. Through regular reading, you will catch all the current affairs questions and various socio-economic issues. It will help you to write on any issue related to the state or country without thinking twice. So, if you are residing in Assam and want to kick your preparation, start reading Assam Tribune. Along with the local newspaper, read a national newspaper which will help you to cover all national issues.
  2. Always choose the optional paper in which you have a good command. For example: if you are an arts graduate with a Political Science major, you can choose Pol Science as optional. Or else if you are from an Engineering background, you can choose optional from any of the engineering subjects that you studied.
  3. Make self-notes after reading any books. It will help you to go through the whole topic night before the exam.
  4. Keep writing after covering any topic, it will help you to quickly summarize the topics during the exam.
  5. For many students, language is a barrier. So, if you are from a medium other than English, no need to panic. Language cannot become a barrier here. you can write in Assamese that is state official language
