COVID19 pandemic has disrupted academic activities all across the country. As a result students, as well as college authority, are worried about students' future. After 40 days of lockdown across the country, the govt seems to relax and allow the institution to run smoothly.
Gauhati university also released an updated Academic calender for 2020 for the university as well as colleges under Gauhati University.
1. For Under Graduate(UG) courses:
a. Admission to degree courses should be finished by July 15, 2020, subject to the timely declaration of class 12th results.
B. 2nd, 4th, and 6th-semester U.G. Examination to be held simultaneously in July 2020, as it is associated with a new admission at a higher level.
C. UG for all the remaining internal exams Course assignment should be based / home assignment based.
D. Those U.G. Students for whom physical based, laboratory-based, and fieldwork-based activities are disrupted due to the Covid-19 epidemic, such students can submit library/e-library based project work only for the ongoing semester.
2. P.G. syllabus:
a. All PG examinations will begin after August 15, 2020.
b. The remaining internal examination to be home-based/assignment based
c. P.G entrance examinations for the session 2020-2021 depend on the completion of the exams mentioned in point 1 (b) above, but before September 15, 2020.
d. A new academic session will be started by September 15, 2020.
e. First and third-semester P.G. Classes will continue until December 18, 2020.
h. The study leaves for the 1st, 3rd-semester students will be from 19 to 27 December 2020.
Yes. PG For the first and third semester examinations, classes for the new academic session will be held from December 28, 2020, and will be completed by January 2021.
The classes of 2 and 4 "semester PG classes for the session 2020-2021 will begin from January 2021 (students who have completed the 1st and 3rd-semester classes by that time).
i. Those pg Students for whom physical based, laboratory-based, and fieldwork-based activities are disrupted due to the COVID-19 epidemic, such students can submit library/e-library based project work only for the ongoing semester.
3. All B.Ed. The examinations will start from the last week of July 2020.
4. All LLB exams will start as per the UG schedule. Exams as above.
5. All M.Ed. Examinations will start according to Jee's schedule. Exams as above.
The above steps have been taken with the assumption that educational activities in the state will resume from June 1, 2020.
The schedule is subject to change as per any mandatory / recommended guidelines issued by the UGC and the government in Assam by time.
Exams not covered by this notification are separately conducted by the Controller of Examinations, G.U.
